"A Nautical Alphabet" is a series of illustrations by Timothy C. Raglin that you can find on Deck 5, about midship on the port side. They each feature a nautical term and an illustration. I believe the characters in them are birds that are native to Florida and the Caribbean. I hope they keep them there even if the Disney Wonder goes to the West coast.

Flags are the mode of representation of any particular nation

Flags are generally a piece of fabric or cloth with different designs. The cloth is normally rectangular in shape and it is used as a symbol, as a signaling medium and also as way of decoration. First flags were introduced in battle fields to assist the soldiers. Since then it became a mean of signaling and identification.The study of flags is known to be vexillology. The national flag of America is known as the American flag. It consists of thirteen equal horizontal red stripes at the top and bottom with intermediate white stripes and a blue rectangle in the canton having fifty small white stars arranged in nine offset horizontal rows of six stars with alternating rows of five stars.

These fifty stars on the flag represent the fifty states and the thirteen horizontal rows represent the original thirteen colonies that rebelled against the British Monarchy and became the first states in the Union. Sometimes we need to show our respect to our nation.Such wonderful moments are really cherishable. This is the time we need to hold the pride of our nation in our hand, the national flag. The Buddhist flag is the symbol peace, faith and harmony. It is the emblem of Buddhist group and it is flown on the Buddhist buildings. State flags have two separate meanings.One is the flag of the government and other one is the flag of the individual subnational state. It is the other form of national flag. So it is restricted in use by the country’s government. Hence it is referred to as government’s flag. But in case of United States, Australia and Brazil state flag is official flag of any state or territorial subdivisions that constitute the whole nation.
